I got a gift and it was you
It was us in the rain
With the smell of earth 
It's being a year and you are still here

I got a gift and it was it
The freedom of the cage got me scared, so scared I almost missed it
The risk of the leap
But then I took it
Now I'm here staring at these silent words but yet I hear it so loud saying welcome home

I got a gift and it was I 
I almost forgot how beautiful you are, so this gift I'll cherish from now on
I'll love you like my life depends on it, well I guess it does.

I got a gift and now I'm free!
